Tracing Your Family History Through Death Records.
I am pleased to announce that my book is now published. It is available from Amazon here and I will also have copies with me at most of my talks
It is an irony that it is death records that frequently bring our ancestors so vividly to life – far more so than any other source! They often provide personal information that is just not to be found in other records and which may help you see your ancestor in a much more realistic light.
Finding an ancestor’s death is crucial in another way too: an awful lot could have happened to him in between the time you last found him on a census return or baptizing his last child and the day he died – without the death record you only know half his story!Yet these sources are surprisingly underused my many researchers. The book looks in detail at how to get the utmost from all sorts of death records, at why deaths can be hard to trace, and at what you can do to locate those that just don’t seem to be there.
A review of the book can be read here.

Whatever your requirements, my aim is to bring your past alive for you and help you really get under the skins of your ancestors, so that you have more than just a list of names and dates.
The popularity of Family History in the twenty-first century is immense, and learning about your past is highly rewarding with many people finding that it gives them a sense of belonging to learn more about where they come from! Researching your ancestry is not always easy, and there are many pitfalls for the unwary
Many people do not have sufficient time to carry out their own research, or find they need to travel to other parts of the country in order to continue with their research and are unable to do so. Heritage Family History not only offers research and lecturing services but also offers tailored one to one family history tours in Kent and London. Just ask for details.
If you are researching your family history yourself, even the more experienced find that from time to time they need a helping hand. Whatever your requirements I can offer the support you need.
