Family History Talks

The Celia Heritage e-Course

Celia was a tutor for the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies' Correspondence Course for 8 years, and is a regular lecturer at the Society of Genealogists and the 'Who Do You Think You Are? Live' history show. As such she is ideally placed to pass on her knowledge of family history research to others.

Launched in 2011, the Heritage Family History e-Course is now a 7-module course available for download. You can start it at any time and work at your own speed. Although the course is not assessed there are questions and exercises with answers so that you can see how you are doing.

I loved the course and would like there to be more! As someone who has dabbled in family history and knew a bit, it was really enlightening and I learned SO MUCH in terms of the context and history of records and lots and lots of little details that had totally passed me by. Please, please produce some more modules!
